Nuts Policy

Different customers have different opinions as to what species of plant seed is a nut and what is not.

Of the products commonly referred to as nuts, Wellfoods products produced at Fosters Bakery may use hazelnuts, walnuts and almonds in some baked products.

We do not use peanuts or peanut derived ingredients in any of our products.

Precautions are taken to keep nuts out of non-nut products.

Such precautions include different coloured ingredient containers for nuts.

Nut breads are processed on different dough handling equipment than other breads.

Staff are aware of the need to avoid nut contamination and cleaning methods and procedures are in place as appropriate.

Some people who suffer nut allergy have such a sensitive condition that one microscopic dust particle would trigger the reaction.

Without a totally sealed and nut sterile separate bakery it is not possible to guarantee absolutely 100% that no such nut particles will ever be in other products therefore we do not make such guarantees.

With the precautions taken, however, the risk is clearly low.
